{"id":3480,"date":"2016-06-21T18:35:58","date_gmt":"2016-06-21T22:35:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scottsfilmreviews.com\/?p=3480"},"modified":"2024-02-25T12:37:23","modified_gmt":"2024-02-25T17:37:23","slug":"ted-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scottsfilmreviews.com\/?p=3480","title":{"rendered":"Ted-2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ted-2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Director Seth MacFarlane<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Starring Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Scott\u2019s Review #428<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/scottsfilmreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/70218756.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3481\" src=\"http:\/\/scottsfilmreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/70218756-210x300.jpg\" alt=\"70218756\" width=\"210\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scottsfilmreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/70218756-210x300.jpg 210w, https:\/\/scottsfilmreviews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/70218756.jpg 284w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 210px) 100vw, 210px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Reviewed June 21, 2016<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grade: D-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So many times I will watch a comedy deemed &#8220;the funniest movie of the year&#8221;, or some other touting, and be disappointed in it.<\/p>\n<p>This is the case with Ted (2012).<\/p>\n<p>To be fair to the creators, I did enjoy the 1980s references, and the teddy bear has a charming, gruff, witty, crude personality that was funny at times, but that&#8217;s it for the positives.<\/p>\n<p>The main storyline (a loyal male slacker with a successful girlfriend) has been done to death and this was one of the most predictable, sappy movie endings I&#8217;ve ever seen so I don&#8217;t get why people think it is so great.<\/p>\n<p>Think happily ever after, as if the result was ever in question.<\/p>\n<p>Ted was filled with stereotypical characters, specifically Asian stereotypes, and a myriad of dumb situations.<\/p>\n<p>The actors could handle stronger material.<\/p>\n<p>Raunchy comedies need not have a surprise ending, but the sappy love story was too lame to take at times.
